Services
Apart from its unmanned aircraft design and manufacturing capabilities, Aerosonde® has a proven history of service capabilities.
For many civil and scientific customers, the value of unmanned aircraft is the ability to secure valuable data under circumstances in which manned aircraft missions might be too expensive or dangerous, or lack the required endurance. In these cases, customers have relied upon Aerosonde’s skilled aircraft operators, flight crew, and mission leaders to perform the mission and collect the required data.
The company’s service capabilities include:
Ecological and Biological Missions
The Aerosonde aircraft provides affordable aerial surveys of bays and estuaries. It provides imagery from low altitudes not available through other survey methods, such as satellite or high-altitude broad area surveys.
Meteorological Missions
Our aircraft was developed initially with the needs of meteorological operations in mind. It has successfully flown a wide range of these missions around the world for meteorological services and research organizations based in countries including Australia, the U.S., Japan, and Korea.
Military Missions
As part of AAI Corporation and the larger Textron family of businesses, the Aerosonde aircraft is part of a networked enterprise with proven aerospace and defense expertise. Skilled engineers from AAI’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems business unit and Aerosonde have optimized the aircraft for military missions including:
-
Surveillance
-
Electronic warfare
-
Communications relay
-
Nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) weapons detection
-
Battle damage assessment (BDA)
-
Artillery spotting
-
Contact investigation
Our Aerosonde aircraft is integrated into AAI’s interoperability network of common ground control technologies including the One System® Ground Control Station and One System Remote Video Terminal.
